


Being a founder-moderator of an active on-line
support group and participation in daily patient
discussions have made me realize how important
support groups are for cancer patients.
The article in the British Medical Journal discusses
how patient advocacy can influence access to life-
saving cancer medications like Gleevec.
The article in Internet Health discusses how patient
support groups can influence healthcare in
developing countries.
